Cecelia + Jacob – Heartfelt Wedding at The Engine Room, Monroe GA

Let me introduce y’all to this incredibly sweet couple that I have had the privilege of getting know over the last several months. Cecelia and Jacob met at Georgia College when they were set up for Cecelia’s formal. Fast forward to the Wine and Cheese night at Jacob’s apartment. Calm and collected, Jacob surprised Cecelia with a romantic evening and a beautiful slideshow of sweet memories from their relationship with the song “Marry Me” by Bruno Mars playing in the background. Cecelia said, “He proposed! I was surprised because he was so calm and confident the whole time! He wasn’t nervous at all!” When you know, you know.

I was so excited when Cecelia then contacted me to inquire about capturing their wedding day! Cecelia was so sweet and fun to talk with, we instantly hit it off! After talking with her over Facetime I knew it was gonna be a gorgeous day. They had chosen The Engine Room in Monroe GA as their venue, which is a GORGEOUS location! It is a perfect combo of light whimsey and industrial chic. I was ecstatic!

October 25th arrived, and the venue was a bustle as the florist and her team began decorating, and the staff made sure everything was in perfect order. Kim, the florist, was so sweet! Not to mention incredibly helpful!! If you’re looking for a florist I can not recommend Kim and her team enough!

After meeting up with Cecelia and her beautiful bridesmaids, I ran off to shoot details. Which were the bees knees! So simple, and so perfect! And y’all… The dress!! Oh my the dress! If you know me at all you know that I love all things light and airy, plus beautiful lace wedding dresses. This dress was both of those things!! So yes, I was in heaven, and could’ve spent an hour shooting just the dress! You think I’m kidding…

After details it was time to grab Cecelia for a first look with her bridesmaids, which was simply perfect! After lots of smiling, twirling, happy tears, and laughter, I whisked Cecelia and her gorgeous self off for her individual portraits. What a dream! Cecelia was born to be in front of camera! Let me tell y’all! I felt like I didn’t even have to pose her!

Time began to fly, as it usually does on wedding days, and before I knew it I had taken all of the bride, bridesmaids, groom, and groomsmen photos, and it was time for the ceremony!! The chatter of guests quieted as the music began and grandparents and parents were seated. Jacob walked down the aisle with his pastor as reality settled in. You could see the excitement and anticipation all over Jacob as he breathed deeply while watching each bridesmaid and groomsmen walk towards him. Then at last the music changed and everyone stood.

Cecelia and her father entered and began down the aisle. Everyone watched on as Jacob and Cecelia locked tear-brimmed eyes. Unable to stop smiling, it was as if they were the only two people in the room! I had asked Jacob a couple hours before hand, as he was getting ready, if he was a crier. He immediately said no, and that he didn’t think he would cry. Well, let me tell you something, when he saw Cecelia coming down the aisle towards him, the love he had for her was overwhelming! Y’all… I was tearing up behind the camera!!

The light poured in around them as they exchanged vows and shared in communion. It was a beautiful display of love for one another and the hope they have in Christ. Jacob pulled her in for the kiss. With cheers and applause they were pronounced husband and wife! Ecstatic they walked hand in hand back up the aisle.

After the ceremony it was a blur of laughing, crying, hugging, and lots of smiling! Cocktail hour came and went as I pulled Cecelia and Jacob aside for some Husband and Wife portraits. The reception began with the Grand Entrance as everyone welcomed the new Mr. and Mrs., dances, and toasts. The food was absolutely delicious with beautiful steamed veggies, delicious mac n’ cheese, and juicy bacon wrapped sirloin. Oh my, and the cake! I seriously could’ve eaten 3 slices of it! Yum!

After lots of dancing and fun, it was time for the exit. With wedding bells in hand, friends and family cheered as Cecelia and Jacob made their way to the rest of their lives 🙂 (… to cheesy?)

Enjoy these photos! And leave a comment of congratulations to the happy couple!
